Mr. Meyer and I are old time friends that dates back to his first coming to Northwest School, through bussing and school maintenance days days to his time in the central office. Sometimes we did not see eye-to-eye but we always remainded close friends with shared respect for each other.

Our experences together were many, including riding to UGA classes together and picking up a hitch hiker on a cold winter day; using my old ton and half truck to move desks and equipmnet from the old Southwest school when it closed; going out with me to bring back truant students; trying to keep the Chatsworth Library warm in the winter for Mrs. Meyer...and the list goes on.

So long, Mr Meyer. I'll will you "on the other side of the river."

So sorry to read of your dad's passing. Praying for you, your mom and family to know God's comfort and peace that passes all understanding. Fondly remember spending Thanksgiving with your family while we worked together at ANB. It was the first time I ever had creamed corn like your mom made it.

Mr. Meyer was my 7th grade math teacher at Eastside Elem in Dalton around 1967. (Or at least he tried to teach me math-I'm afraid I wasn't very good at it). I do remember him talking about being from Canada and at the time did not realize he was a minister. Sorry to hear of his passing but glad to know he now walks the streets of heaven with our Heavenly Father. My prayers are with you all.

During family visits with him there was always lots of laughter and fun. May God comfort and sustain you as you grieve.
