Both Jesse and Tony are involved in several national and state funeral service organizations including the National Funeral Directors Association, Georgia Funeral Directors Association, and the Academy of Graduate Embalmers.
Licensed Funeral Director/ Founder
A native of Whitfield County, and a graduate of the Berry Academy in Rome Georgia, Jesse Jones earned his funeral directors license in 1950 and att that time he was recognized as the youngest funeral director in the State of Georgia. His career in funeral service has consisted of tenures at funeral homes in Atlanta and Decatur, Georgia as well as firms in the Dalton-Whitfield area. He established Jones Funeral Home in 1978.
Licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer/Owner
Tony Jones is a graduate of Murray County High School, earned an Associates Degree in Business Administration from Dalton College, and holds a degree in Funeral Service Education from Jefferson State Community College. Tony is a member of First Baptist Church of Chatsworth, Sumach Lodge #55, and The Academy of Graduate Embalmers of Georgia.
Tim Howard is a native of Murray County and his father also worked at Jones Funeral Home. Tim is retired from the local school system and is an active member of the Whitfield-Murray Historical Society, the Spring Place Ruritan Club, Murray High Alumni Association, and the Berry Alumni Association. He attends Smyrna Baptist Church.
Fred Welch was born in Whitfield County and raised in Murray County. He graduated from Murray County High School and Dalton College, with an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration.Fred is retired from Chatsworth Ford where he was the New Vehicle Sales Manager. He has served on the Chatsworth City Council for a number of years.Fred is a member of First Baptist Church of Chatsworth. He also has been heavily involved in many civic organizations including The Murray County Jaycees, Chatsworth Optimist Club, Chatsworth Lions Club, Murray County Red Cross, Chatsworth-Murray County Recreation Board, and the Gideons.
Licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer
Allison is a native of Murray County. She is a graduate of Murray County High School, earned an Associate Degree in Dental Hygiene from Chattanooga State Technical Community College, an Associate and Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from Dalton State College, an Associate Degree in Funeral Service Education from Jefferson State Community College and is a Licensed Insurance Agent with Homesteaders Life Company. She also works at Murray County Health Department as a Registered Nurse. She is a member of First Baptist Church of Chatsworth. She likes to read, sew/quilt, garden and spend time with family. She and Tony have a son, Tyler.
