I only learned during Christmas 2018 that Estill had passed away shortly after Christmas last year. Mom sent them a Christmas card in 2018 and it was returned. We were sad to hear of Estill's home-going. Mom would love to have your mom's new contact information, phone and address. My cell or text number is 706-513-3900.

We owe so much to Estill and Violet Jones. Judy worked for Estill at the GBC years ago, and when she left the GBC, we went to SBTS for advanced degrees. Before we left, he performed our wedding ceremony. Then, a short while later, I suppose to make sure that it "stuck," he was our seminary pastor at SBTS while we were completing our studies. He lived a truly remarkable life, offering leadership and ministry for many, caring and with a sense of humor and humility. We pray God's comfort and peace for all family and friends.

I am so sorry to hear of Mr. Jones' passing. I know that he lived a life of service to God and others and that he had a profound impact on many lives. I'm sure he was a powerful influence in molding his daughter, Jean, with whom I had the privilege of working, and his other children. I pray that your family has the peace and comfort of God during this time of grief.

Dr. Jones had a significant influence on my early life. As pastor of the First Baptist Church in Thomson, GA, he was our THS Football Team Chaplin. I grew up in the First Methodist Church with the late Sam Coker. As I look back, there was no "competition" between the top three churches [third being Brother Nelson at the Presbyterian Church]. Dr. Jones used a quite leadership skill. There are few people on this earth that has no enemies. Dr. Jones was one of these persons. I had the upmost respect for him! It was very good that I got to spend some time with his family recently through the 50th Football Reunion Celebration in Thomson. His Prayer prepared for this event touched many hearts that night. I have not talked to Jack but have been in close contact with Judson. I also know that Lil Jean has had a very difficult year. All of you are in my prayers. I will light a candle tonight at my Church!

Thanks Allen for that reminder about the THS football Chaplain for Dr. J. I remember those days well and he was an inspiration to all who knew him. We are well, mostly and blessed, God has been good to me and my family with one Godly son and four grandkids...

Violet and family,
Dr. J. was my pastor during all of my youth years at FBC Thomson. He was small in stature, but a mighty man of God. He baptized me when I surrendered my life to Christ and I will be eternally grateful. Many souls were saved by the seeds he planted and lives changed forever. I know my parents and brother Bob are rejoicing with him this new year. God bless you all.
