Oveda Jones

Oveda Dill Jones, age 79, passed away at her home on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025. 

Born on October 13,1945 in the Sumach Community of Murray County, Oveda had been a member of Sumach Cumberland Presbyterian Church since 1955. She and her husband owned and operated Yarn Equipment Specialty of Chatsworth for many years.

She is predeceased by her parents, Bentley and Mary Dill; brother William A. Dill; brother-in-law James G. Stewart;  sister-in-law Gail Jones; and mother-and father-in-law Virginia and Floyd Jones.

Oveda is survived by her husband of 61 years, George E. Jones along with daughter of heart, Marchelle Burgess; sister, Rosa Lee Stewart Wegner (Hank); sister-in-law, Wanda Bailey (Frank); brother-in-law, Michael Jones; niece, Beth Bledsoe (Tom); and nephews, Jimmy Stewart (Caroline) C. J. Jones (Kristen), and Cody Jones (Dana); her beloved fur baby, Vader; and several cousins.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at 5 p.m. at the Sumach Cumberland Presbyterian Church (9203 Hwy 225 North, Chatsworth, GA 30705) with Rev. Tom Clark officiating.  The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 22, from 5-8 at Jones Funeral Home.
