Mary Lou Harrison, age 96, made her journey home to meet the Lord on June 27, 2021 surrounded by her family.
Mary Lou was born and raised in Carters, Georgia. After marriage, she was a lifelong resident of Murray County. Mary Lou enjoyed cooking and planting gardens. She prepared and canned her vegetables every summer. Then in the winter, she shared baskets with people who were less fortunate. She also loved her plants and flowers. People were always stopping by to get cuttings and she was always willing to share. But, most of all she loved spending time with her family. She was a member of Faith Worship Center in Chatsworth.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, John (Ode) Harrison; parents, Alfred and Pauline Silvers; sisters, Catherine Sosebee and Hazel Brown; brothers, C.L. Silvers and Sam Silvers; and granddaughter, Kacie Parker.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Randall and Gilda Harrison and Sheila and John Carter; grandchildren and spouses, Josh and Meg Harrison, Randy and Jen Harrison, Josh and Brittany Tudor; great-grandchildren, Jaden Harrison, Gabriel Harrison, Caleb Harrison, and Elijah Tudor; sisters, Joann Tweed, Susie Ridley, Tommy Greene, and Judy Hall; brother, Johnny Silvers; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mary Lou Harrison will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, June 30, 2021 from the Chapel of Jones Funeral Home of Chatsworth with Chaplain Pam Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Murray Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm Wednesday, June 30, 2021.
