Marcelle "Marcy" Bandy Kilgore passed away Sunday, February 11, 2024, while under the watchful care of loving Highland Hills Memory Care staff.
Temporarily displaced because of a long struggle with Alzheimer's, Marcy (or Marcie) was a life-long resident of Murray County, Georgia. James Avington Kilgore preceded his wife in death. Marcy was born December 7, 1934 to the late Deette and John Bandy. Her only surviving sibling is Rachel Poteet of Dalton, Georgia. Other survivors are her daughters and sons-in-law, Ann Kilgore, Kay and Alan Brown, and Lyn and Robert Johnson. Calling her Gran are Daniel Baggett, Andy Brown, Tucker Brown, Hannah Baggett, Leanna Brown, and Zech Johnson as well as her great-grandchildren Gage, Owen B., Avington, Lillie, Thomas, Elsie, Charlotte, and Owen J.
A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church in Chatsworth, Georgia on Saturday, April 20, 2024. A time of visitation for family and friends will be from noon-2pm, followed by a service at 2pm. The service will be officiated by Tommy Crider and J.T. Harrell, accompanied by organist Lynn Murphy. The service will be live-streamed.
