On Wednesday, March 3, 2021 Macoy Nance Griffin of Tunnel Hill passed away peacefully at his home at the age of 85. Macoy was born in Tunnel Hill on September 14, 1935.
A loving husband and father of four, Macoy loved his church, reading, sports, and his family. He was a long serving member of the Tunnel Hill United Methodist Church where he sang in the choir, taught Sunday school, and participated in the United Methodist Men's Fellowship.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Ernest Griffin, mother, Clara Elizabeth "Toppi" Griffin, and a great grandson, Hudson Price.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Norma Griffin; a brother and sister-in-law, Hiram (Jane) Griffin; sons and daughters-in-law, Keith (Debbie) Griffin, Scott (Nancy) Griffin, Blake (Gidget) Griffin, and Chris (Starr) Griffin; grandchildren and spouses, Caleb Griffin, Alaina (Aaron) Price, Laura (Jake) Souther, Alexa Griffin, Casey (Grant) Zawadzki, Kinsey Griffin, Madison Griffin, and Addison Griffin; uncle and aunt, Norman and Mickey Nance; great grandchildren, Kayleigh Fryer, Griffin Souther, Turner Price, Bergen Souther, Finley Price, and Murphy Macoy Zadwadzki; cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Services to celebrate Macoy's life will be held on Sunday, March 7, 2021. His funeral, for immediate and extended family, will be at 4:30pm in the sanctuary of the Tunnel Hill United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Griffin Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation for friends and family will be from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at Jones Funeral Home in Tunnel Hill.
