Loyd Kenneth Houston, devoted husband, beloved son, brother, cherished father, proud grandfather and great-grandfather, age 86 of Rocky Face, passed away peacefully Friday, October 17, 2025 at The Canopy at Boynton Ridge in Ringgold.
He was predeceased by his wife, Nancy Ann Houston; parents, Virgil and Mae Houston; brothers, Ronald and Mack Ira Houston; and sister, Geraldine Houston Dyer.
He is survived by daughters and son-in-law, Phyllis and David Jones and Belinda Ann Pack; grandchildren, Jennifer (Scott) Dubee, Samantha (Joey) Splawn, Elizabeth (Austin) Ledford, Joshua Pack, Cory (Dionne) Jones, and Kelly (Wright) Hackett; sister-in-law, Brenda Houston; 14 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; nieces and nephews.
Kenneth was a man who worked with his hands and led with his heart, he found joy in building, fixing, and finding solutions to everyday problems. His wisdom and strength was admired and respected by his loved ones.
For 65 years, Kenneth stood beside his beloved wife and best friend, Ann Houston, their enduring bond a testament to love, loyalty, and partnership. Together, they built a life rooted in family, faith, and unwavering support for one another.
Kenneth’s greatest priority and pride was his family. He lived to raise, protect, and guide them, always putting their well-being above his own. His legacy lives on through the generations he helped shape through his love and values he instilled.
His memory will be held dear by those whose lives he touched — family, friends, and all who had the honor of knowing him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Kenneth Houston will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, October 21, 2025, from the Chapel of Jones Funeral Home of Tunnel Hill with Ross Jordan officiating. Burial will be in United Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm Tuesday, October 21, 2025.
