Leona Willis, age 90 of Chatsworth, passed away Sunday, December 24, 2023, in Advent Murray Medical Center.
She loved Christmas lights and decorations. When electrical power was established in Floodtown in the 1950s, she was the person who initiated the Floodtown Christmas light tradition.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lum Willis; parents, Frank and Lillie Flood; brothers, N.E., Cecil, Roosevelt, Montie, S.L., Frank, Jr., and John Dewey Flood; and sister, Thelma Manis.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Fe Willis; brother, Lewis Flood; sister, Bonnie Hooker; and several other relatives.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Leona Willis will be 2:00 pm Thursday, December 28, 2023, from Lakeview Baptist Church with Revs. Donnie Flood and Matthew Harris officiating. Burial will be in Eton Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm Wednesday December 27, 2023, at Jones Funeral Home of Chatsworth.
