Joseph Fred Templeton

Joseph Fredrick (Fred) Templeton, age 93 of Chatsworth, passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2025.

Fred served in the United States Air Force, retiring at the rank of Master Sergeant on June 1, 1972.

He was preceded in death by his wives, Laverne Templeton and Barbara Templeton; parents, Joseph Elgin and Rosa Maybelle Templeton; and brothers, Darrell, Charles, Dewey, and Winfred Templeton; and sisters, Mildred Smith, Alice Templeton, and Rachel Williams.

He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Katie and Dan Sluder and Melonie and Lee Wyatt; step-son, Fred Welch; brothers, Gene (Inga) and Wayne (Carolyn) Templeton; grandchildren, Corey Bush, Kyle Bush, Shalina Jackson, Josh Sluder, Adam Wyatt, and Eric Wyatt; several great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Fred Templeton will be 4:00 pm Sunday, June 8, 2025, from the Chapel of Jones Funeral Home of Tunnel Hill with Rev. Russell Jackson officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm Sunday, June 8, 2025.

Burial will be in Keith Baptist Church Cemetery.
