John (Jack) Jones

John “Jack” Estill Jones III, age 75 of Dalton, passed away Saturday, February 1, 2025, in Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Jack was a lifelong musician, with a degree in trumpet and voice in 1972 from Oklahoma Baptist University. His most recent position was with Walgreens on Walnut Avenue in Dalton, where he was known by everyone with his “welcome to Walgreens” greeting.

He was predeceased by his parents, Dr. Estill and Violet Moak Jones; and brother-in-law, Arthur Wacaster.

He is survived by his sister, Jean Wacaster; and brother, Judson Jones.

Memorial services to celebrate the life of Jack Jones will be 1:00 pm Friday, February 7, 2025, from First Baptist Church of Dalton with Rev. Jonathan Barlow officiating.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Dalton.
