Mrs. Jo Glenn Rogers Meyer; widow of the late Rev. Douglas J. Meyer, died Monday, August 24, 2020 at age 89.
Mrs. Meyer was a lifelong resident of Murray County and was a graduate of Murray County High School, Tennessee Temple College, and the University of Georgia. She taught school for 33 years, all of those years in Murray County, except for one year in Whitfield. She also served faithfully alongside her husband in the various churches he pastored.
Mrs. Meyer was preceded in death by her husband Douglas J. Meyer; her parents, Stanton and Lula Rogers, and brother, Hardy Rogers.
She is survived by her son, Daniel D. Meyer of Chattanooga, Tennessee; sisters-in-law, Jan Meyer and Gwen Meyer of Canada; numerous nieces and nephews; family friends, David and Debbie Willis, Linda Ramsey Anderson, Dewayne and Connie Daniels, and a special adopted granddaughter, Alexis Daniels Scott and her husband Cory. Daniel would also like to express special thanks to Mrs. Claudette Stephens for her care for Mrs. Meyer.
Due to the uncertainty of weather conditions, funeral services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Jo Glenn Meyer will be 1:00 pm Saturday, August 29, 2020 from the Chapel of Jones Funeral Home of Chatsworth. Burial will be in Ramsey Cemetery.
The family requests no food or flowers. However, given Mrs. Meyer’s passionate love of the scripture and her desire for the worldwide distribution of the Bible, donations to the Murray County Gideon Camp P.O. Box 44 Chatsworth, Georgia 30705 are encouraged and deeply appreciated.
