Jess Lee Quinn

It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well lived that we announce the passing of Jess Lee Quinn, who departed this world on June 25, 2026, at the age of 86. Jess was born on December 31, 1939, in the warm embrace of Cohutta, Georgia, to Walter and Edna Coker Quinn. He was the youngest star in a vibrant family constellation, and his journey through life was marked by love, generosity, and an unwavering commitment to family.

Jess was predeceased by his beloved wife, Donna Quinn. He was also preceded in death by his children, Jennifer and Jeffrey Quinn, his great-granddaughter, Harlow Quinn Smith, his parents, Walter and Edna Coker Quinn, and his brothers and sisters, Ernest, Lawrence, Frank, Arnold, Joseph, Donald, Lois Henderson, Francis Hall, Lorene Crawford, Carolyn Davis, and Faye Spivey.

His legacy continues through his children, Scott Quinn and Shelia, Tony and Laura Quinn, Carl Quinn and Vickie, Angela Quinn, and Edna Quinn and Kacy, grandchildren, Wayne and April Hasty, Justin, Ashley Hasty, Jessee, Christopher, Susanne, TJ Quinn, and Brianna Nolasco, each carry forward his spirit of kindness and generosity, as do his great-grandchildren, Landon, McKenzie, Jaxon Hasty, Ashton-Lane Tucker, Jacob Bryson, Little Jessee Quinn. He is also survived by his loving sister, Joy, and her husband, George Hammock.

Jess’s life was a tapestry woven with the threads of hard work and dedication. In the 1950s, he ventured north to work in the automotive industry, only to return to Dalton, where he spent the remainder of his career in the textile industry until his retirement. His work ethic was matched only by his love for the simple pleasures of life. Jess found endless joy in the great outdoors, often camping and fishing at Mill Creek Lake, accompanied by his brothers and nephew, Allen. His green thumb was evident in the gardens he lovingly tended, and his weekends were frequently spent at flea markets and yard sales, where he delighted in the thrill of discovery.

To those who knew him, Jess was more than just a kind and generous man. He was a beacon of warmth and compassion. His gentle spirit and unwavering support touched the lives of many, leaving an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to cross his path.

We will celebrate Jess Quinn at Jones Funeral Home in Tunnel Hill, Georgia, 2:00 pm Sunday, June 28, 2026, with Rev. Gary Jarrett officiating, and lay him to rest beside the mother of his children, Juanita Bradley Quinn at Lindsey Memorial Cemetery in Rocky Face, Georgia. We bid farewell to this remarkable man; we do so with hearts full of gratitude for the time we shared and the love he so freely gave. His memory will forever be a guiding light reminding us of the beauty of a life lived with kindness and purpose.
