Gerald Edwards

Gerald U. Edwards, age 62 of Ringgold, passed away at Erlanger Medical Center on Sunday, December 21, 2025, surrounded by family.

He was a believer in God, took great pride in owning Edwards Appliance Installation for many years, and most recently worked for MedSpeed.

One of his greatest joys was watching NASCAR races with his family. Race days were never just about cars and drivers. They were about time together, laughter, and shared excitement. Those moments meant the world to him. He also loved going on adventures, whether that meant traveling, exploring new places, or simply getting out and making memories with the people he loved.

He was especially proud of being a grandparent because he acted their age, even if that meant embarrassing his grandkids every chance he got. Being loud, obnoxious, and intentionally over the top was practically a hobby, and he took great pride in making them roll their eyes, laugh, and shake their heads. It was his way of showing love, and everyone knew it.

Gerald valued experiences over things and believed life was meant to be lived fully. His presence filled a room, and his absence will be deeply felt.

He leaves behind a family who will miss him dearly and cherish the countless memories he created. His memory lives on through shared stories, loud laughter, race day traditions, and the love he gave so freely.

He will be greatly missed and never forgotten.

Mr. Edwards was preceded in death by his father Alton Aundre Edwards Sr.; stepfather Boyd Wooten; son Blaine Edwards; and brothers Steve and Andy Edwards.

He is survived by his mother Annie “Sue” Wooten; stepmother Mary “Anita” Holcomb Edwards; sons Blake & Tiffany Edwards and Jarrett Lee Edwards & Katrina Stickel; daughters, Amanda Foster and Jessica Lane; siblings, Brian and Melissa Wooten, Jennifer and Jacob Butler, James & Suzanne Edwards, and Leslie & Jennifer Edwards; grandchildren Tucker, Stevie, Kinly, Paisley, Preston, Phoebe, Parker, Violet, Emberli, & Hunter; girlfriend Rebecca Miller; nephews, Corbin and Tavian; and several other nieces and nephews.

Services for Mr. Edwards will be Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Jones Funeral Home of Tunnel Hill with burial to follow in the West Hill Cemetery in Dalton. The family will receive friends from noon until 2 p.m. prior to the service.
