Erma Ruth Mealor, age 93 of Dalton, passed away Thursday, September 3rd 2020 at her home.
Born in Chattanooga, she grew up during the Great Depression. Mrs. Mealor was employed by Gregory Printing and Office Supply while raising her family in Dalton. She was employed for many years until her retirement with Davies Bridal and Gifts in Dalton where she managed bridal consulting, wedding party attire and accessories along with alterations. Mrs. Mealor enjoyed mastering the English language through reading and crossword puzzles. She loved playing games with family and friends. Mrs. Mealor was a member of Dalton First Baptist Church.
Mrs. Mealor was preceded in death by her parents, Roy C. and Genevia Rogers Roberts; Warren Clyde and Edith Roberts; special sister, Blanche Hodge; loving husband of 73 years, Gene Austin Mealor; son, Jack Edward Mealor; and daughter-in-law, Marlene Mealor.
She is survived by her son, Ray Mealor; daughter-in-law, Denese Mealor; daughter, Susan Gordon and Todd Braud; grandchildren, Tonya and Frank Kendrick, Michael and Lacy Mealor, Jimmy and Tiffany Mosley, Megan Mealor, Katie and Andrew Conestra, Logan and Michelle Gordon, and Ashley Gordon; special sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Lloyd and Jeannette Williams. Great-grandchildren also survive.
A private graveside service will be held in Whitfield Memorial Gardens.
Jones Funeral Home of Tunnel Hill is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
