Mrs. Betty Jean Caylor Headrick age 84, of Crandall, Ga, passed away peacefully at her home with her family.
Mrs. Headrick was the daughter of the late C.L. and Adell Kendrick Caylor. In 1951 she met her husband the late Marvis Headrick in the neighborhood. In May of that same year, they were married. Betty Jean was 14 years old and Marvis was 17. Their beautiful love affair lasted the next 64 years until his death in 2015.
Mrs. Headrick was the service manager for various dealerships in Dalton, Georgia and later worked for Cherokee Mobile Homes in Chatsworth, Georgia. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. She loved to spend time in her yard gardening, mowing grass, and fishing. She especially loved time spent with her children and grandchildren, especially her great grand dog “Moe.” She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son-in law Chuck Boyd, brother-in-law, Eldon Headrick and a sister- in- law.
She is survived by her daughters, Phyllis Boyd and Cecelia Jones of Murphy, NC; two grandsons, Jacob Jones of Savannah, Georgia, and David (Franci) Scott of Marietta, Georgia; sister, TommIE Headrick of Crandall, Georgia; and brother, Phillip Caylor of Cleveland, Tennessee; special friend, Joyce Jones; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express their deep appreciation to Hospice of Chattanooga for the wonderful care that Mrs. Betty Jean received.
Funeral services will be Saturday, September 25, 2021, at 3pm at Calvary Baptist Church in Crandall, Georgia with the Reverend Curt Thomason officiating. Burial will follow at Fairy Valley Church. The body will lie in state from 1pm until 3pm at Calvary Baptist Church.
