Nellie Hayes Defore, age 91 of Tunnel Hill, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2024, in Hamilton Medical Center.

She was preceded in death by her sons, Victor, Alan, and Keith Maddox; grandchildren, Brian Maddox and Angel Pettit; and brother, Leroy Hanson.

She is survived by her husband, Bill Defore; son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Penny Hayes; daughters and sons-in-law, Kay and Harvey Brewton and Christy and Jeremy McDaniel; sisters, Mary Dean, Emma Booth, and Marie Taylor; grandchildren, Sean, Brooke, Brad, Hope, Michael, Matthew, Justin, Nathan, Wesley, Maddox, Brittany, Amber, Frank, Jr., and Tori; great-grandchildren, Echo, Kyndra, Maddie, Caleb, McKenna, Chloe, and Landon; great-great grandchildren, Renley, Kayla, Cole, Bronwyn, and Vanora; great-great-great grandchild, Kaleigh.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Nellie Hayes Defore will be 4:00 pm Tuesday, April 23, 2024 from the Chapel of Jones Funeral Home of Tunnel Hill. Burial will be in Mill Creek Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm Tuesday, April 23, 2024.
