Ms. Hazel Irene Baggett Ellis, age 93 of Marietta, Ga passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 28, 2024, at home surrounded by her loving family.
Hazel was born and raised in Chatsworth, Ga. She enjoyed preparing meals and creating special moments to fellowship with family. Hazel was also a meticulous gardener and was known for her beautiful flowers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walt and Annie Lou Baggett; husband, Robert William Ellis; brothers, Paul Baggett, Emmett Baggett, G.W. “Mann” Baggett, Walter “Buddy” Baggett, Johnny Baggett, and Dale “Mater” Baggett; and sisters, Margaret Baggett, Frances Parrott, and Mozelle Little.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Lynda and Dan Beard, and Mike and Tami Ellis. “Grammie” is also survived by her grandchildren and their spouses, Kim and Chad Castoe, Brooke and Jon Young, Amy and David Lewis, and Tyler and Breanna Ellis. Great grandchildren include Wyatt Castoe, Abby and Eli Young, Regan, Chase, Morgan, and Camryn Lewis and the much anticipated “Baby Ellis”.
She is also survived by her siblings and their spouses, Shirley and Novis Davis, Katherine Springfield and Julia Baggett. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Ms. Hazel Ellis will be held on Wednesday, January 31 at 1:00 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home with the Rev. Jon Young officiating. The burial will be in Murray Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 31 from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Wyatt Castoe, Eli Young, David Lewis, Nathan Davis, Will Powell, John Henry Baggett, Donald Parrott, and Kobe Moore.
