Marie (Cobb) Thurman

Marie Thurman, age 94 of Dalton, passed away Saturday, April 1^st 2017 at her home.

Mrs. Thurman was born and raised in Eton, Georgia. She was a Department of Defense Veteran and she was married to a military veteran. She was a charter member of Welcome Hill Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie A. Thurman Sr.; father and mother Enoch W.  and Exie Cobb; infant daughters, Betty Thurman and Mae Thurman; brother Enoch Cobb Jr.; and sisters, Geneva Manis and Mable Owenby.

She is survived by her sons, Willie A. Thurman Jr., Julian D. Thurman, and Ronald L. Thurman; sister, Rebecca Butler; grandchildren, Tammy Scuderi, Holly Brooks, Amanda Waits, and Kristin Kidd; step-grandchildren, Amanda Maxwell, Kate Pippin, and Ashton Taylor; nine great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Marie Thurman will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, April 5^th 2017 from the Chapel of Jones Funeral Home of Chatsworth with Rev. Travis Martin and Rev. Randall Postell officiating. Burial will be in Center Valley Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm Tuesday, April 4^th 2017.

In lieu flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in memory of Mrs. Thurman to Hamilton Hospice 1275 Elkwood Drive Dalton, Georgia 30720.
