Jimmie Lay, age 69 of Chatsworth, passed away Wednesday, June 15th 2016 in Gordon Hospital.
Jimmie was a Vietnam Veteran and he was a Past Master of Chatsworth Lodge #664 and Past President of the Echota-Vann Shrine Club.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Green Berry and Hazel Ruth Lay; and brothers, Glen B. Lay and Roger Lay.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Debra Lay; daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy Diane Lay Branam (Charles); Billie Jo Lay Holbrook (Keith); Tammy Marie Lay Hamby (Cale); brother, Benny Lay; grandchildren, Kalyn, Jessika and Jakob Branam; Kristin Young (Cody), Michael Poteet, Brittany West (Adam), Justin Hamby (Ashley), Derek Hamby, great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Dawson Hamby, Skyy, Savannah, Bryson, and Bradley West.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Jimmie Lay will be 6:00 pm from the Chapel of Jones Funeral Home of Chatsworth with Rev. Brandon Herndon officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm Saturday, June 18th 2016.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memory of Jimmie Lay to the Echota-Vann Shrine Club P.O. Box 203 Calhoun, Georgia 30703-0203.
