Jerry Wayne Dean, age 67, of Tunnel Hill, died Friday September 30, 2016 at his home.

Mr. Dean worked as a coal miner for 26 years.  He served in the U.S. Army for 4 years and received the following commendations; National Defense service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 3 Bronze Service Stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Air Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Sharpshooter (Pistol), and Expert (Rifle).

He is preceded in death by parents, Monroe and Paulene Stuart Dean; and sister, Dora June Dean.

He is survived by his wife, Gail King Dean of Tunnel Hill; sons and daughter-in-law, Sam (Rolanda) King of Rocky Face, GA; Israel Dean of Tunnel Hill, GA; daughter, Jessica (Jorge) Bailey of Tunnel Hill, GA; grandchildren, Wesley and Ali Harp of Cohutta, GA, Devin (Colinda) Whitener of Tunnel Hill, Chasity (Shawn) King of Speedwell, TN, Sammie Jo (Rodney) King of Harlan, KY, Tabitha (Keith) King of Dalton, GA,; great grandchildren, TJ and Aubrey Whitener, Addisyn and Flynt Roark; brother, George (Nancy) Dean of Verda, KY; sisters, Doris McCallister of Verda, KY, and Carma (Leonard) North of Sneedville, TN; special uncle, Curtis Stewart of Verda, KY; and several nieces and nephews.

 The family will receive friends for visitation from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Monday, October 3, 2016 at Bianchi Funeral Home in Evarts, Kentucky.

 Funeral services to celebrate the life of Jerry Wayne Dean will be held at 7:00 pm Monday, October 3, 2016 at Bianchi Funeral Home in Evarts, Kentucky with Rev. Paul Dean officiating.
