Rev. Douglas J. Meyer, age 88 died October 30th 2017. Born in Cornwall, Ontario, Mr. Meyer made Chatsworth his home since 1957. He was bivocational, serving as pastor in several local Baptist Churches and in the Murray County School System, first as a teacher at Ramhurst Elementary then as a principal at Northwest Elementary and Chatsworth Elementary.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herb and Sadie Meyer; nine brothers and one sister.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jo Glenn Rogers Meyer; son Daniel D. Meyer of Chattanooga, Tennessee; sisters-in-law, Jan Meyer and Gwen Meyer; numerous nieces and nephews; family friends, David and Debbie Willis and Linda Ramsey Anderson.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Rev.Douglas J. Meyer will be 2:00 pm Saturday, November 4th 2017 from Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church with Dr. David Bragg officiating. Burial will be in Ramsey Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 pm until 8:00 pm Friday, November 3rd 2017 at Jones Funeral Home of Chatsworth.
