Carlton Wayne Burgess, age 53 of Chatsworth, died Sunday, October 11th 2015 at his home.
Mr. Burgess was born on August 24, 1962 to Wayne and Brenda Phillips Burgess. He was a member of Sumach Cumberland Presbyterian church since 1971 and also served in the United States Marine Corps (Ret.).
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr & Mrs H.G. (Evelyn Dill) Phillips; Mr & Mrs George (Jewel) Burgess; stepfather, James Bowen; uncles, James & Raymond Phillips, Charles Whitener and H.V. Young; aunts, Ruth Young and Carol Whitener.
Mr. Burgess is survived by his life partner, Eileen Townsend Burgess; mother, Brenda Phillips Bowen; sister and brother-in-law Marchelle Burgess & Larry Flood; brother & sister-in-law, Phillip & Brooke Bowen; step-children, Robin Beckman & Glenda Doty; Nieces, Kristin Headrick & Tapanga Bowen; nephews, Nathan Headrick, Logan & Brendan Bowen; aunt, Dorothy Phillips; several cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am, Wednesday, October 14, 2015 from the chapel of Jones Funeral Home of Chatsworth with Rev. Nathan Headrick and Rev. Tom Clark officiating. Burial will be in Sumach Cemetery.
