Allen H. Phipps, age 74 of Dalton, passed away Tuesday, October 4th 2016 at his home.

Allen was a highly skilled Millwright his entire adult life, working around the country for various companies. He was a beloved member and sponsor for Alcoholics Anonymous in Cincinnati, New Jersey, and Dalton, and also a member of Mineral Springs United Methodist Church. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Myrtle Phipps; brother, Buster Phipps and sister, Jaqueline Baggett.

He is survived by his wife, Sandy Duncan Phipps; sons and daughters-in-law, Ken and Kelly and Julie Phipps and Brian and Melissa, Stephen and Kim, and Larry and Dawn Duncan; brother, Tom Phipps; grandchildren, Jesse, Joey, James, Tommy, Katie, Brooke, Drew, Erin, Hannah, and Savannah; and numerous other family and friends.

Memorial services to celebrate the life of Allen Phipps will be 1:oo pm Saturday, October 8th 2016 from Mineral Springs United Methodist Church with Rev. Gordon Delashmitt officiating.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm Saturday, October 8th 2016 at Mineral Springs United Methodist Church.

Parking may be limited at the church. Please be prepared for assistance and direction upon arrival.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Allen Phipps are requested to be made to Mineral Springs United Methodist Church/Dalton Serenity Club C/O Cheryl Phipps 1678 Thomas Road, NW Dalton, Georgia 30721.
