Jones Funeral Home of Chatsworth was founded in 1978 by Jesse Jones after purchasing the oldest existing funeral home in Chatsworth from Herchel Penland. The funeral home was established in 1928 by the Kenemer Brothers: Luke, Clay, and Watt at 217 West Fort Street where it remained until November 15, 1988. It was then relocated to 215 West Walnut Street, where it became Chatsworth-Murray County's first facility designed specifically for funeral service.
Jones Funeral Home of Tunnel Hill was founded in May of 1980 in an existing 8,000 square foot building located on Highway 41 North. This location established the Jones Family as the first in the Whitfield~Murray County area with multiple facilities. As the Tunnel Hill community continues to grow and prosper with the addition of many new residents and businesses as well as the widening of Highway 41 to 5 traffic lanes, Jones Funeral Home continues to provide the community with the caring and compassionate service it deserves.
